Jaiswal's missed out on 100 

Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out on his second century in Test cricket. He scored a fiery 80 off 74 balls in India's first innings of the opening Test against England.

Dominated England spinners

Jaiswal tormented the England spinners on the opening day after the visitors perished on 246. His knock was laced with 10 boundaries and three sixes.

Second-most day-one runs

Jaiswal now holds the second-most runs by an Indian batter in the first day's play after fielding first. He is only behind Gautam Gambhir.

Century on debut 

He previously scored a century on his Test debut against the West Indies, becoming the 17th Indian to achieve this feat.

Impressive Test average

Playing his fifth Test, he has raced to 396 runs at 49.50. This was his second fifty in India whites as the tally includes a ton.
