Bartlett's memorable debut

Australian pacer Xavier Bartlett had a memorable debut, picking four wickets in the first ODI against West Indies at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Impressive bowling performance

His exceptional bowling figures of 4/17 from nine overs helped Australia bundle out West Indies for only 231 in 38.4 overs. He dismissed Alick Athanaze, Justin Greaves, Shai Hope and Gudakesh Motie.

Second-best debut for a Aussie bowler

Bartlett's performance is now the second-best by an Australian bowler on an ODI debut. Anthony Dodemaide holds the record with 5/21 against Sri Lanka in 1988.

Maiden four-fer achievement

This was Bartlett's maiden four-fer in the 50-over format as he has played 21 matches in List A cricket. Overall, he now owns 27 scalps in this format.

His heroics in the 2023-24 BBL

Bartlett finished as the highest wicket-taker in the recent Big Bash League 2023-24 season. He went on to claim 20 wickets at 14.70 from 11 games. He guided the Brisbane Heat to the title.
