Netherlands captain Scott Edwards scored an unbeaten 78(69) against South Africa in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup, leading his team to 245/8.
Coming in at 82/5, Edwards' knock included 10 fours and a six, marking his 14th ODI half-century.
This feat ties Edwards with Ryan ten Doeschate for the most fifty-plus scores for the Dutch in ODIs (14). Tom Cooper trails them with 13 ODI fifties.
Edwards also holds the second, third, and fourth-highest scores by a Netherlands captain in the format. Peter Borren's 84 against Ireland in 2011 sits at the top spot.
Despite losing early wickets, the Dutch managed to score 140 off just 123 balls after the top-six batters' dismissal.
The Netherlands' lower order contributed significantly, with Roelef van der Merwe and Aryan Dutt adding crucial runs to surpass 240.
