Southee's performance earned him the Player of the Match award. He dismissed the likes of Muhammad Waseem, Vriitya Aravind, Basil Hameed, Aayan Khan, and Junaid Siddique.

With this fifer, Southee has raced to 139 wickets in T20Is. He needs two more wickets to go past Shakib Al Hasan (140) and become the highest wicket-taker in T20Is.

First fast-bowler feat
Southee is the first fast bowler to achieve a five-wicket haul in T20Is both at home and in foreign conditions. Imran Tahir is the only other bowler to achieve this feat.

NZ overcomes UAE
Despite a shaky start, NZ posted 155/6 courtesy of a fifty from Tim Seifert. In reply, UAE never got going and were bundled for 136. Debutant Aryansh Sharma smashed a fifty.
