Cricket board sacked

Sri Lanka's Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe sacked the national cricket board following their humiliating defeat against India in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Ranatunga to lead

Ex-skipper Arjuna Ranatunga was named chairman of a new interim board, which includes a retired supreme court judge and a former board president.

The decision came after secretary Mohan de Silva resigned and Ranasinghe demanded the entire board's resignation.

Ranasinghe sought support from the International Cricket Council (ICC), citing player disciplinary issues, management corruption, financial misconduct, and match-fixing allegations.
