On the occasion of Sachin Tendulkar's 50th birthday, the Sydney Cricket Ground unveiled the Tendulkar-Lara gates. Tendulkar and West Indies legend Brian Lara are the only non-Australian cricketers to be commemorated with this.

This will be the first time that Tendulkar will have his name etched in stone at a famous venue overseas. Don Bradman, Arthur Morris, and Alan Davidson are the other names to have gates named after them at SCG.
Tendulkar and Lara have impressive records at the SCG, with Tendulkar averaging 157 in Tests and scoring 785 runs. Meanwhile, Lara scored 384 runs in Tests and amassed 270 runs in ODIs.
