Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah has been ruled out of the remainder of the T20I series versus England at home. Shah contracted COVID-19 a day after he was admitted to the hospital for contracting pneumonia.
Last week, an unnamed member of the Pakistan support staff tested positive. On that occasion, the individual did not travel with the squad to the National Stadium in Karachi for the second T20I.
The PCB announced that their in-house medical team was monitoring Naseem. The board said any calls on his participation in the remainder of the series will be made after assessing his medical reports.
Naseem is a doubt for the forthcoming tour of New Zealand. The tri-series involving Bangladesh will take place between October 7-14. The Pakistan squad leaves for New Zealand on October 3.
Naseem debuted against India in the Asia Cup 2022. He owns seven scalps in six T20Is at 25.57. His best figures in the format read 2/7. He conceded 41 runs in the first T20I against England.
