Marlon Samuels banned for six years

Samuels' six-year ban

Marlon Samuels, the former West Indies cricketer, has been banned from all cricket for six years after breaching the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) anti-corruption code.

Guilty of four offenses

As per ESPNcricinfo, the four charges relate to the 2019 edition of the Abu Dhabi T10, a tournament held under the backing of the ECB.

Anti-corruption obligations

Alex Marshall, head of ICC's HR and Integrity Unit, emphasized that Samuels knew his obligations under the Anti-Corruption Codes.

Undisclosed gifts, obstruction

The charges include failing to disclose gifts or hospitality and obstructing an investigation.

Ban starts November 2023

In August 2023, Samuels was found guilty of four offenses under the ECB Anti-Corruption Code - Article 2.4.4, Article 2.4.3, Article 2.4.6, and Article 2.4.7.

His ban began on November 11

Samuels was charged by the ICC on four counts in September 2021. Samuels's ban commenced on November 11, 2023.
