Man City sign Rennes winger Jeremy Doku

Doku joins Machester City

Manchester City have acquired winger Jeremy Doku from Rennes for £55.4M. The Belgian winger has signed a five-year contract with the club. He will be replacing Riyad Mahrez.

The reigning Premier League champions have made their third major signing this summer in the form of Doku. They had previously signed Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol.

Doku, who started his career with Anderlecht, played 91 matches for Rennes, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists.

With Riyad Mahrez joining the Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ahli, City manager Pep Guardiola identified Doku as his suitable replacement.

Doku is excited and eager to work with Pep Guardiola as the youngster believes that it will significantly improve him as a footballer.

The Belgian international made his debut in 2020 and since then has made 14 appearances for his country, scoring twice. He scored his first goal against Iceland.
