New Zealand's captain Kane Williamson is expected to undergo knee surgery in the next three weeks, which rules him out of the upcoming ODI World Cup in India due to the six-month recovery period.
Williamson, New Zealand's fifth-highest ODI run-scorer with 6,554 runs, played an important role in the team's two World Cup runner-up finishes and won the Player of the Tournament award in 2019.
