Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a century on his Test debut against WI in Dominica. He now holds the record for most balls faced by an Indian on Test debut.

Jaiswal's calculated approach

Jaiswal started cautiously as he took more than 10 balls to score his first runs. He completed his hundred in 215 balls. At Stumps on Day 2, he is 143* from 350 balls.

Jaiswal broke this record

Jaiswal faced 350 balls on his Test debut. He broke Mohammed Azharuddin's Indian record of facing 322 balls. SL's Brendon Kuruppu holds the overall record (548 balls).

17th Indian to achieve this feat!

Jaiswal becomes the 17th Indian to score a century on Test debut and the third against WI. He is also the fourth-youngest Indian to achieve this feat.

Youngster's historic feat

Jaiswal becomes the third Indian opener to score a ton on Test debut, joining Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw. He is the seventh Indian to achieve this feat away from home.

Jaiswal can surpass Dhawan

Jaiswal's unbeaten 143 on his Test debut has surpassed Sourav Ganguly's 131 and ranks third-highest overall for India, behind Dhawan (188) and Rohit (177).
