Chris Jordan replaces Jofra Archer

Mumbai Indians have signed Chris Jordan as Jofra Archer's replacement for the IPL 2023 after Archer was ruled out due to fitness and rehabilitation concerns.

Jordan's fifth IPL franchise

MI will be Jordan's fifth IPL franchise. He has previously played for RCB, PBKS, SRH and CSK. He has picked up 27 wickets in 28 IPL matches.

Archer's poor IPL season

Jofra Archer had a poor season for Mumbai Indians, picking only two wickets at an average of 95.0 and conceding at an economy rate of 9.50 in five games.

Uncertainty over Ashes availability

Archer's persistent injury concerns may affect his availability for the Ashes. He underwent surgery for elbow soreness during IPL and featured in only five games.
