The white-ball series between India and Afghanistan has been postponed due to the unavailability of an appropriate window for the three-game ODI series.

The Afghanistan series has been postponed due to the busy schedule of the Indian players. They will play the WTC Final and will soon travel to the Caribbean.

BCCI wants players fresh 

The India-Afghanistan series was scheduled after the WTC Final and before India's tour of Caribbean. However, BCCI wants to keep the players fresh for the upcoming 2023 World Cup.

Break after the WTC final

A BCCI official reveals that they tried fitting in the Afghanistan series after the WTC Final but couldn't due to broadcasting deals. Therefore he wants the players to rest.

BCCI's broadcaster issue

BCCI's postponement of the India-Afghanistan ODI series is because their deal with Disney Star has ended and they are waiting for a new tender.

India has won seven out of eight encounters against Afghanistan in international cricket, with the 2018 Asia Cup match ending in a tie.
