DC fail to get home

Chasing 168 at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium, DC were off to a poor start. The Capitals could not bounce back and were restricted to 140/8 in their 20 overs.

Struggling openers

DC haven't shuffled their top order much as Salt and Warner are just their second opening pair this season. Warner and Prithvi Shaw opened in DC's first six games (scored 142 runs at 23.66).

Lowest average partnership for first wicket

DC has the lowest average partnership for the first wicket this season, with 18.45, followed by Punjab Kings with 20.18 and Kolkata Knight Riders with 21.63.

5

Aggression in Powerplay

DC have been aggressive at the top as their average run rate in Powerplay this season has been 8.06.

Warner struggling: Salt thriving

Warner's low strike rate of 119.56 is hurting the team despite his 330 runs, while Phil Salt's inclusion is beneficial with his 168 runs and a strike rate of 175.
