Ashes series levelled

England's dramatic 49-run win at the Oval levelled the Ashes 2023 series 2-2. It also helped England gain valuable points in the World Test Championship standings.

How did the game pan out?

England batted first and managed 283 courtesy of Starc's 4/82. Australia scored 295 taking a 12-run lead. England then posted 395 before bundling out Australia for 334.

England's strong comeback.

Despite strong performances from David Warner, Usman Khawaja, and Steve Smith, Australia fell for 334, with Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali taking seven wickets combined.

England gain ground on Australia

Even with the win England remain in fourth place in the WTC standings but they are now tied with third-place Australia with 26 points and 43.33% PCT.

Pakistan at the top of the table

Pakistan remains at the top of the WTC standings after a historic win in Sri Lanka. They whitewashed SL 2-0 to earn 24 points and can boast a 100% PCT.

India are in the second spot

India are in second place with a 1-0 series win over West Indies, earning 16 points and a PCT of 66.67%, while WI hold fifth place with four points and a PCT of 16.67%.
