Australia have reached their eighth ICC Cricket World Cup final, the most by any team. India and England share the second place, having qualified four times apiece.

The Aussies have won five titles in 1987, 1999, 2003, 2007, and 2015, and are the only team with three consecutive wins.

Diverse final victories

They have defeated England, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand in finals, winning three while batting first and two while chasing.

Record 300-plus total

Australia's 359/2 against India in the 2003 final is the only 300-plus total in a WC final.

Largest win

Their 125-run win over India in 2003 is the biggest win in an ODI WC final by runs.

Gilchrist's top score

Adam Gilchrist holds the highest individual score in a WC final with 149 against Sri Lanka in 2007, followed by Ricky Ponting's unbeaten 140 against India in 2003.

Unique Gilchrist achievement

Gilchrist also has three 50-plus scores in ODI WC finals, a unique achievement among players.
