Boult commits to NZ despite release

Trent Boult secures deal

Veteran pacer Trent Boult has committed to the New Zealand team in spite of not agreeing to a central playing contract. He, therefore, has been given a "casual playing agreement".

Boult gave up his central contract last year

Boult opted for a release from the central contract in August last year, a move which allowed him to play in various domestic leagues and spend more time with family.

New Zealand Cricket's official statement

"Boult, while again declining a central contract, has committed to being available for the BLACKCAPS for part of the playing programme," New Zealand Cricket stated on June 8.

New Zealand's Trent Boult is one of the most successful left-arm seamers among active cricketers, with 317 Test wickets and 187 ODI wickets.
