YouTube is testing Aloud, an AI-powered dubbing service to help creators add multi-language dubs to their videos.

Aloud

Aloud is part of Google's Area 120 incubator. It allows creators to dub their videos in multiple languages within minutes.

Process

Aloud offers a three-step process to dub videos, starting with transcribing the video, followed by editing and reviewing by users, and finally translation.

Languages

Aloud currently supports dubbing English videos in Spanish and Portuguese, with more languages coming soon. Dubs mimicking creators' voices could arrive by 2024.

YouTube rolled out support for multilingual audio tracks in its videos earlier this year. The company hopes to increase the reach of videos.
