Worm Moon will be visible this week

Worm Moon

This week, a full moon will be seen in the direction of the constellation Leo. It is known as the 'Worm Moon' and has other names such as the Crow, Crust, and Sap Moon.

Names

The full moons that occur each month have been given popular nicknames, by various cultures across the globe, and so does the one in March.

Moonbow

In case it rains at night, you might also get to see a moonbow. They occur when light from the Moon is refracted through water droplets in the air and are extremely faint.

Thirteen full moons

Unlike most years, where we have 12 full moons, this year will have 13, including two supermoons in August.

Glimpse of Venus-Jupiter

The Venus-Jupiter conjunction will also be visible near the western horizon at sunset.
