WhatsApp to revamp floating action icons

Redesign

WhatsApp has planned to redesign the floating action button that will allow users to quickly initiate a new chat.

Revamped interface

WhatsApp is working on redesigning its interface and has already introduced a modified bottom navigation bar and toggles based on Material Design 3.

Floating action buttons

Instead of a circular block, the floating action button will appear squarish with slightly rounded edges, adhering to the Material Design 3 guidelines.

Availability

The re-designed floating action buttons have not been rolled out as yet. It is currently under development and will be released to beta testers soon.

There are also possibilities that WhatsApp will introduce more enhancements to the user interface in a future update.
