WhatsApp tests screen sharing feature

New feature

WhatsApp is introducing a screen-sharing feature for video calls on the Android version. The update is rolling out to beta users.

Share screen during calls

The screen-sharing feature allows users to share their on-screen content with all participants during video calls.

Accessibility

Reportedly, a new screen-sharing icon will appear in the call control view on WhatsApp. Once you tap on it, you will be prompted to share your screen.

Screen sharing

Do note that the on-screen contents will be continuously transmitted. Notifications and other information that appear on your screen will be visible to users on the other end.

Limitations

Per WABetaInfo, the screen-sharing feature may not work in large group calls or on older Android devices. It is currently available only to beta users.
