WhatsApp now lets you pin messages

Feature

WhatsApp is introducing a feature to pin messages in individual and group chats, allowing users to highlight important texts, images, polls and emojis.

Customizable duration

Pinned messages will appear at the top of chats and can be set for 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days, after which messages will be unpinned.

Group chat controls

In group chats, admins can choose who can pin messages, and a system message will notify members when a message is pinned.

Availability

Pinned messages will be end-to-end encrypted like all other conversations on WhatsApp. The feature will be available on Android and iOS in the coming days.

Multiple pins

WhatsApp is also reportedly working on a feature that will allow users to pin multiple messages within a chat.
