WhatsApp now lets users schedule calls

Call scheduling

WhatsApp now allows beta users to schedule group calls, similar to Zoom and Google Meet.

Feature

Users can schedule audio or video calls with group participants at a specific date and time. All group members will receive an alert once the call is scheduled.

Schedule call option

The call button within group chats now includes a 'Schedule Call' option. Using the feature, users can select the call type, subject, time, and date.

Alerts

An event is created in the group once a call is scheduled. Participants who confirm to join the call are notified 15 minutes before the call starts.

Android beta rollout

This feature is currently rolling out to Android beta users. The latest enhancements reflect WhatsApp commitment to improve its communication capabilities.
