WhatsApp has released a new update for Android beta users allowing them to manage contacts within the app.

The new update for Android allows users to add new numbers directly within WhatsApp, eliminating the need to switch between apps.

Edit contacts in-app

WhatsApp allows users to add new contacts and edit contact information directly within the app, without leaving the chat interface.

Availability

WhatsApp is currently testing the ability to add/edit contacts in its beta version on Android. It is expected to be released for the stable version soon.

Significance

The ability to add or edit numbers removes the need to go to the phone's contacts app. Users are currently taken to the contacts app, even from WhatsApp.
