Google Meet is about to get the "On-the-Go" mode, which will allow users to stay in a video call while also being focused on their path when walking.
2
Scenario
Ideally, a user should be seated during video calls. However, people often end up joining a meeting while walking. For such scenarios, the "On-the-Go" mode will make it safer to take video calls.
3
How to use it?
You will receive a prompt to switch to the travel-friendly mode if Meet determines you are walking. Also, you can use a new option from the in-call (three-dot) menu to switch to it manually.
4
Simplified layout
Once the "On-the-Go" mode is enabled, Meet will disable your camera and video stream from other participants. Additionally, you will be introduced to a new, simplified layout with only a few buttons.

Availability
The "On-the-Go" mode on Google Meet is currently in development phase. However, it is expected to be rolled out to users very soon.
