Qualcomm may announce two variants of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset at the upcoming Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii.
2
Variants
The first will be produced using TSMC's 4nm process node, while the second, more powerful and energy-efficient will be produced using TSMC's N3E (enhanced) 3nm node.
3
Efficiency
Snapdragon 8 is said to feature ARM's Cortex-X4 prime CPU core, Cortex-A720 performance CPU core, and Cortex-A520 efficiency CPU core, making them more efficient.
4
3nm variant
The 3nm variant will have a smaller feature set and smaller transistors, allowing it to fit more transistors, making it more powerful and energy-efficient.
5
Similarity
Despite different manufacturing processes, both versions of the chipset share the same CPU combo structure.
6
Event
Qualcomm plans to unveil both variants of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset simultaneously on October 24, showcasing its improved efficiency and reduced overheating potential.
