NVIDIA to launch new AI chips in China

NVIDIA

NVIDIA is reportedly planning to launch three new chips for the Chinese market, following a US ban on selling two of its high-end AI chips and a gaming chip to China.

Launch

The upcoming chips, dubbed HGX H20, L20 PCIe, and L2 PCIe, could be unveiled as early as November 16.

Limitations

The US export limitations have impacted NVIDIA from selling its A800, H800, and L40S chips, with restrictions taking effect on October 24.

With over a 90% stake in China's $7 billion AI chip market, NVIDIA dominates the industry.

However, experts suggest that the US restrictions could benefit local companies like Huawei Technologies.
