Netflix has started cracking down on password-sharing in 103 countries, including the US and UK.

Combatting Password-Sharing

Netflix has identified password-sharing as a reason for cooling subscriber growth and is now taking a strict approach to it.

No sharing outside household

Netflix will notify users who share their account "outside their household." Extra charges will be applied to those outside the household.

Household

Netflix defines a "household" as all devices using the same internet connection as a TV, identified through IP addresses, device IDs, and account activity.

Extra members

Netflix Standard and Premium plan subscribers can add extra members, but with additional charges, while Basic or Standard with Ads plan users cannot.
