NASA's Mars Ingenuity Helicopter breaks records again. It reached a speed of 23.3km/h and an altitude of 52.5 feet on its 49th flight.

Ingenuity helicopter has been flying on Mars for two years. It launched along with Perseverance Rover and has been acting as a scout for the mission.

49th Martian flight success

NASA's Ingenuity helicopter on Mars completed its 49th flight on April 2, covering 282 meters in 142.7 seconds.

Information

As per the official flight log, the chopper has flown a total distance of 11,224 meters and has stayed afloat for approximately 86.7 minutes.

Mars helicopter flies!

Ingenuity made its first flight on April 19, 2021. Its maiden flight lasted 39.1 seconds and it flew about 10 feet above the Martian surface.
