Robotic elephant for temple in Kerala

The Irinjadapilli Sree Krishna Temple in Thrissur, Kerala has been offered a robotic elephant by PETA India.

Design

The 800kg metal behemoth is 11 feet tall and can move its ears and tail, spew water, and also carry people on its back.

Cost

The robot elephant was built for Rs. 5 lakh and will be formally inaugurated on February 26.

Inspiration

The robot elephant can serve as a role model for other religious institutions and help in reducing the use of real animals in shows.

Advancing animal protection

This is a great step towards animal welfare and conservation of wild animals. Maintenance costs are also low.
