The report notes that "Antarctic sea ice fell to its lowest extent on record and the melting of some European glaciers was, literally, off the charts".

Last year, monsoons arrived earlier in India and the season ended later than normal, shows the report. The monsoons also caused severe flooding, particularly in the northeast.
