Google Pay launches UPI Lite in India

Google Pay launches UPI Lite in India, enabling quicker transactions for amounts up to Rs. 200 without a UPI PIN. The daily spending limit is capped at Rs. 4,000.

Limits

When you activate UPI Lite for your account, that will be selected as the default option for payments of Rs. 200 or lesser.

UPI Lite

UPI Lite transactions will be reflected on Google Pay. "Only your initial load, top up and unload transactions show up on your bank statement," per Google.

Banks

UPI Lite is backed by several banks including AU Small Finance Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Indian Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI, and Union Bank of India. More banks will join soon.

Conditions

You cannot use UPI Lite to make certain payments such as payment collect requests, and UPI International payments, per Google's official blog.
