Google Messages brings Custom Bubbles

RCS users milestone

Google Messages is celebrating one billion monthly active RCS users by introducing Custom Bubbles, allowing Android users to personalize chat bubble colors.

Chat distinction feature

With Custom Bubbles, users can customize the color and background of conversation bubbles for both themselves and their contacts, allowing them to distinguish between different chats.

Beta version release

Initially available in the beta version, Custom Bubbles will have a wider release at a later date. Google is yet to announce more details on the availability.

Google v/s Apple

Unlike Apple's iMessage, Google Messages offers customization options for chat bubbles. Users can choose unique colors for each chat as per their preference.

iPhone RCS plans

Apple plans to incorporate RCS into iPhones by 2024, but blue and green bubble differentiation will remain.
