Google Calendar ends Android 7.1 support

Google Calendar is set to stop supporting devices running Android Nougat 7.1 and below.

The latest version of the app includes a flag to show a message for users with unsupported operating systems, urging them to update to Android Oreo (8.0) or higher.

Security concerns

The decision to end support for older devices is likely due to security concerns, as older Android versions are more susceptible to hacks and data loss.

Chrome version 119

Earlier this month, Google announced that Chrome version 119 would be the last supported version for smartphones running on Android 7 and below.

Upgrades 

Users with older devices should plan to update or upgrade their devices to continue using Google Calendar and other apps that may experience similar changes in the future.
