Google Bard accused of plagiarism

Google Bard is accused of plagiarism after admitting to copying content. Its earlier factual error during a demo cost the company $100 billion.

Exposed plagiarism

Avram Piltch, editor-in-chief of Tom's Hardware, uncovered Bard's plagiarism while testing the chatbot's abilities by asking it a CPU comparison question.

Same answer

The answer given by Bard stunned Piltch, as it was almost word-to-word copied from Tom's Hardware. However, the chatbot did so without citing the website.

Admitted plagiarism

Bard admitted to copying content from Tom's Hardware. It then apologized for plagiarism and said it would be careful in the future.

Plagiarism denied

When another journalist asked Bard about plagiarizing content, the chatbot said it generates original text and would never plagiarize.
