Snailfish
There are over 400 known speciesof snailfish, which are found in a variety of habitats, from shallow waters to deep oceans.
4
Adaptive snailfish
Some snailfish have adaptationsthat allow them to live 1,000 meters deeper than other deep-sea fish, according to Alan Jamieson, the chief scientist who led the expedition.

Juvenile snailfish
The recently-discovered snailfish was classified as juvenile. These young snailfish are usually found at greater depths when compared to adult ones.
