Boeing delays Starliner's crewed launch

Starliner delayed again

Boeing's Starliner faces another delay, pushing its first crewed launch to the ISS to March 2024, due to parachute and wiring issues.

CFT mission

Initially planned for July 21, the mission, called Crew Flight Test (CFT) has been postponed multiple times now.

Remedial measures

Boeing is working on strengthening the suspension lines of the capsule's parachutes and exploring protective measures for the flammable tape around the wiring.

Boeing

Despite challenges, Boeing remains dedicated to the Starliner project and aims to complete the necessary work by early March 2024. The final launch date has not been fixed yet.

Crew

Once ready, Starliner will fly NASA astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams aboard ULA's Atlas V rocket to the ISS.
