Newsletter tool

WhatsApp has labeled its newsletter tool as 'Channels.' The new feature will allow users to receive updates from people and groups they choose to follow.

Channels

WhatsApp Channels are marked as a private tool which means that user information and contact numbers will not be visible to others.

Privacy

Within Channels, no one will be able to see who you follow, regardless of whether they are a part of your contacts or not.

Find channels easily

WhatsApp will reportedly designate handles for Channels, making it easier for users to find a particular channel within the app.

Availability

The Channels feature is under development and is not available on the app as yet. It was spotted on the beta channel, as part of the Android beta update 2.23.8.6.
