Auto-archive apps

Google's new 'auto-archive' feature, on Android, allows users to free up space on their device without having to completely uninstall an app.

Clear app storage

Unused apps will be partly removed to save space, freeing up 60% of the app's storage. The app's icon will still be displayed and will be marked with a cloud symbol.

Re-download archived apps

Archived apps can be re-downloaded, as long as the apps are still available on Google Play Store.

Feature

The archived apps will retain your login data and other credentials, saving you the hassle of having to set up everything from scratch.

Optimizing app storage

The auto-archive feature will only be applicable to apps that have been published using the App Bundle.
