Skin issues that indicate diabetes

By Rishabh Raj

1

Yellow, reddish, brown patches

This skin condition initially forms pimple-like small raised bumps. Then, these bumps turn into patches of swollen and hardened skin, colored yellow, reddish, or brown.

2

Shin spots

This skin condition causes small spots that create a slight depression in the affected area. Usually, it appears on the shins but can also show up on the arms, thighs, or other body parts.

3

Dry itchy skin

When blood sugar levels are consistently high, it affects the body's ability to retain moisture, making the skin more prone to dryness.

4

Velvety dark skin

A dark, velvety skin patch on the neck, armpit, or groin could indicate high insulin levels. This could be a sign of prediabetes.

5

Blisters

These blisters can vary in size and may appear individually or in clusters. They are most commonly found on the hands, feet, legs, or forearms.
