In India, states like Arunachal Pradesh require Indian citizens to obtain Inner Line Permits (ILP) or Protected Area Permits (PAP) for entry.

Nagaland's ILP mandate

Similarly, Nagaland mandates ILPs to protect indigenous Naga tribes and their culture.

Mizoram ILP regulations

Mizoram also requires ILPs, facilitated by government liaison officers in various cities.

Manipur ILP extension

President Ram Nath Kovind extended the ILP system to Manipur on December 11, 2019, to safeguard indigenous communities and their traditions.

Sikkim's protected areas

Sikkim necessitates permits for accessing remote protected areas, issued by the state's Tourism & Civil Aviation Department.
