Indian sports every GenZer must play

Kabaddi

Kabaddi, a sport dating back 4000 years, is thought to have originated in Tamil Nadu. Unlike modern sports, it doesn't require any equipment to play.

Kho-Kho

Kho-kho dates back to the 4th century BC, possibly referenced in the Mahabharata. An ancient version called "Rathera" was played on chariots.

Gilli danda

Gilli danda dates back to 2500 years during the Maurya Dynasty. Some believe that sports like cricket, baseball, and softball might have drawn inspiration from this amateur sport.

Kith-kith

Kith-kith, similar to Hopscotch, traces back to prehistoric India around 600-500 BCE. It's called chirpi, tokkudu billa, ekka dukka, or khane across different states.

Kite flying

The earliest records of kites in ancient Indian literature can be found in the writings of a thirteenth-century poet named Namadeva. Kites also find mention in the Ramayana and the Vedas.
