5 confusing cat behaviors explained

Cramming into tiny spaces

This behavior stems from the time cats used to live in the wild. Their natural instinct is to sleep in hidden spaces to make it difficult for predators to find them.

Kneading

If your cat pushes onto you using its front paws as if they are kneading, they are associating you with the warmth of its mother. Kittens do this to stimulate milk from their mother.

Knocking things off

Cats knock things off out of curiosity, to see exactly what will happen if they touch something. They may also do so to gain your attention. Cute little drama queens, aren't they?

Eating house plants

Cats bite and chew plants if they have indigestion, or simply out of curiosity, or boredom. However, some plants are toxic for cats, so ensure you keep them away from your cat.

Midnight meows

Sometimes your cat might start meowing loudly in the middle of the night, often leaving you annoyed. The reason why your cat does this probably can be attributed to its urge to hunt.
