Feel good hormones

The body has four happiness hormones: dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins. Each plays a unique role in making us feel good.

Oxytocin

Oxytocin is a hormone that promotes bonding and feelings of love. Its production can be naturally increased by simple actions such as hugging, petting animals, and giving compliments.

Dopamine

Dopamine production can be stimulated naturally by eating sweets, completing tasks, getting a massage, or listening to music to activate the brain's reward system.

Serotonin

Serotonin can stabilize mood, improve sleep, reduce anxiety, and increase happiness. It can be increased naturally by spending time in the sun, exercising, meditating, and going for a walk.

Endorphins

Endorphins, the brain's natural painkillers, can be increased through exercise, laughter, dark chocolate, aromatherapy oils, and by having sex.
