How to grow cactus at home

By Apurva P

1

Optimal sunlight

For successful cactus growth, ensure well-draining soil and four to six hours of daily sunlight, rotating the pot for even exposure.

2

Watering schedule

Water sparingly every two to three weeks, allowing soil to dry out completely between sessions to prevent root rot.

3

Keeping away from pests

Watch for fungal or bacterial infections caused by overwatering and pests like mealy bugs, scale, and root mealy bugs.

4

Maintaining temperature

Maintain indoor temperatures between 21-38°C and fertilize only two to three times a year during the growing season.

5

Safe pruning

Prune minimally, removing dead or damaged parts with clean, sharp scissors while wearing safety gear.
