Foods to avoid in your children's tiffin

By Apurva P

1

Instant noodles

Instant noodles, containing preservatives and refined flour, offer little nutritional value and may cause digestive issues. Adding vegetables doesn't improve its health impact.

2

Fried foods

Fried foods can lead to weight gain and digestive problems in kids. Choose healthier cooking methods like baking, grilling, or steaming for nutritious alternatives.

3

Candies or chocolates

Avoid giving kids chocolates, candies, cakes, and donuts for school lunches as these contain high sugar content, lack nutrition, and can lead to cavities and heart problems.

4

Packaged juices

Processed or packaged juices and energy drinks are not healthy for kids due to their high sugar content and low fruit extract. Opt for whole fruits instead.

5

Salads or sandwiches with mayonnaise

Mayonnaise-heavy foods are unsuitable for kids' lunches due to potential spoilage and unhealthy ingredients like nitrates, salt, and artificial additives.
