Foods not to feed kids below 5 years

By Anujj Trehaan

1

Sugary offerings

Candies and chocolates are an important part of one's childhood. However, they are loaded with sugar or artificial sweeteners, which may cause gum problems and obesity.

2

Refined oil

Refined oil undergoes intensive chemical processing at high temperatures, resulting in a substantial loss of nutrients. Instead choose healthy oils, such as cold-pressed varieties.

3

Caffeine

Caffeine can have a significant impact on your child's nervous system. When consumed, it may disrupt their sleep, impede concentration, and lead to addiction.

4

Fizzy drinks

Soft drinks, soda, and other fizzy beverages may not be an ideal fit for kids under five years. These beverages can cause dental problems, bone issues, allergies, obesity, headaches, etc.

5

Whole nuts

Whole nuts are a choking hazard for young children due to their small size and hard texture. Instead offer them nut butters only after consulting a pediatrician.
