Debunking 5 myths about dieting

By Anujj Trehaan

1

Myth 1: Healthy food is expensive

There are fruits (bananas), vegetables (lettuce), and pulses (beans, lentils) that are affordable. Avoid subscribing to a healthy meal service and cook on your own.

2

Myth 2: No snacks or treats

Certain diets (crash diets, fad diets) are restrictive and generally unhealthy. A good diet may offer you nutrition and small portions of your favorite treats as well.

3

Myth 3: If you skip meals, you will lose weight

Dieting does not involve skipping meals. Instead, it's about feeding yourself at regular time intervals and with the right amount of calories.

4

Myth 4: Slimming pills and teas are helpful

Slimming pills and teas may have ingredients harmful to your health. Instead of consuming them, consult a dietician for proper guidance to lose weight.

5

Myth 5: Eating after 8 pm causes weight gain

Weight gain doesn't depend on time but on calorie intake. If you do not consume more calories than recommended, eating late won't hamper your fitness.
