What to expect from 'HotD' Season 2?

HBO's popular period fantasy series House of the Dragon completed its maiden season on the streamer on Sunday (Monday in India). Here's how the second season may shape up.

Release date

Although the streaming giant announced recently that the show has been renewed for a second season, it didn't reveal a release date. However, reports suggest that Season 2 may greet us in 2024.

Story

The second season will focus on a "continent-spanning civil war" where multiple major Houses from Westeros will assemble together to choose sides.

Consequential event

Another important event, known as Blood and Cheese, is likely to be included in HotD Season 2's opening episode, which will be as good as the Red Wedding from GoT!

Cast

Most of the cast of the first season is likely to return in the second season. These include Matt Smith as Daemon, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D'Arcy as Rhaenrya, and Eve Best as Rhaenys.
