Vivek Agnihotri to boycott Filmfare

Vivek Agnihotri has announced he won't attend the 68th Filmfare Awards, calling them "unethical and anti-cinema". To note, his film 'The Kashmir Files' is nominated in seven categories, including Best Film.

Bollywood celebrities have often raised concerns about the credibility of award shows and some actors have even claimed they were offered awards in exchange for dance performances.

In a long tweet, Agnihotri criticized the awards for not showcasing the faces of directors like Sooraj Barjatya and Anees Bazmee while announcing nominations.

'TKF' is nominated in categories such as Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Editing, among others. The movie is available on ZEE5.

Agnihotri's next movie 'The Vaccine War' is based on a true story and stars Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, Gopal Seth, and Divya Seth. It will release in 11 languages on Independence Day.
